This song originally appeared on SBR's 2013 Christmas compilation, the stunningly wittily named "Tinsel Machine".
There it would have stayed until I realised how much I liked it. Kick drum was too loud on that version, though, so I did a quick remix - part of which involved deliberately making the main piano part more distorted and out-of-tune.
Which, in retrospect, feels like an odd thing to have done. Also took the pitch-correction off the vocals. definitely less smooth, but somehow fits the mood of the song better.
I'm still proud of the fact I came up with the entire lyric on the spot.. Top-to-toe, one take. So I'll allow myself a little bit of latitude on the pitching.
Yeh. I like this one.
